The ABC 4 Sports Director since March of 2002, Wesley Ruff grew up in Springville and graduated with honors from Springville High. His strong academic record earned him a scholarship to Southern Utah State College (now SUU) and his talent with a golf club led to a golf scholarship from the Utah Golf Association. He went on to earn a degree in broadcast journalism from Brigham Young University. Wesley is a 4-time winner of the Utah Sportscaster of the Year award, as voted on by the sportscasters and sportswriters in the state. He was honored in 1998, 2002, 2004 and 2006. He was also named Bill Howard Golf Citizen of the Year by the Utah Section PGA in both 2000 and 2006. Wesley came home to ABC 4 in 1986 from KFYR in Bismarck, North Dakota, where he worked as the weekend sports reporter and photographer. He is a dedicated public service volunteer and is a frequent spokesperson for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He has hosted the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon since 1995. He's also proud of the money raised from Beat the Pro, which started in 1991. Wesley enjoys golf, collecting coins, water skiing, public service, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family, which includes his wife Sue, and their 7 children.
